Birch Tree Bookstore is a cozy, woman-owned community bookshop in historic downtown Leesburg that shares its space with sister business Foliage Plant Shop. Both stores were operating separate, outdated websites that no longer reflected their in-store experience or supported their growth goals. The solution? One modern site that seamlessly integrated both brands and showcased their unique combination of books and plants.
I led a full website redesign and consolidation, unifying the visual branding and messaging for Birch Tree Bookstore and Foliage Plant Shop into one cohesive online presence. This included restructuring the site architecture, adding multiple new pages, and streamlining the user journey to make it easier for customers to browse, learn about events, and shop online. To support seasonal promotions and drive revenue, I integrated a Holiday Gift Guide and holiday shop experience to entice local shoppers and online customers.

Birch Tree Bookstore is an independent, community-focused bookshop in historic downtown Leesburg, Virginia. Birchtree Bookstore shares the same building as Foliage Plant Shop, creating the first bookstore and plant shop in Virginia. Beyond their unique in-store shopping experience, they host weekly and monthly events including in-store book clubs across genres and age groups. They also hosts writing circles, business-oriented gatherings, and plant-related meetups, positioning their woman-owned shop as an active hub for readers, writers, and plant lovers.
